Putting It Out There

One of the things I have a hard time doing is to actually put my work out where people can see it. My inner critic comes up with all kinds of ridiculous reasons to not make the blog post, or even a social media post, and I revert further into my shell. So I’m going to try something new and flip that on it’s head and at least make an effort to show my work.

So here it is, I’m still on a felting binge and am getting ready for the King’s Mountain Art Fair on Sept. 1, 2 and 3rd. I’m loving working with wool in this form and have settled on focusing on decorative home goods, aka “vessels.”

Felting is such a huge topic, and there’s so many directions you can take, I’ve really been playing with what direction I find is the most fun for me and currently it’s bowls!

I’m also dabbling a little with wall pieces, with some success and have taken some online classes from Kristy Kun of Opulent Fibers and Fiona Duthie, both are excellent teachers, as well as amazing felt artists. I’m hoping to become as good as a felter as they are, and find my own voice with this medium.
